"Stayed here for several nights as ideal for access to Pons and Saintes. The owners and staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very nice. You could sit outside close to the river and soak in the atmosphere. We had a little inflatable boat and was able to launch it from the site but the river was rather weedy and we had to look out for branches in the water"

We/I went to Les Moulins des Vergnes many times, this summer. Initially, it started off as a nice fun place to pass some afternoons or evenings but it wasn 't long before the Casper, the person who ran the restaurant/bar, changed his character and became extremely rude and sarcastic. His focus was on passing trade/making as much money as possible ... tourists who did not have time to 'read the book '! Don 't waste your money. There are more friendly, better value and better places around Pons. PS ... the tap water is disgusting (needs testing, seriously) and the bottled water is very expensive. I won 't mention the toilet.

Have been visiting this site convienient stopping point from the St Malo ferry, for a number of years. The restaurant has been very good in the past, one of the best on any campsite but recently there has been a change in management might have been a couple of changes and while the restaurant still produces a tasty meal at the end of a fair drive about 20€ for three courses the food lacks the individual quality of the chef and has some charcteristics of being made elsewhere. But with the useful camping site we will continue to visit it one or twice a year.

Pulled into this site late afternoon after long drive from Spain. Thought it was closed, although advertised as open all year. Finally got someone's attention and they took our money and then showed us the site (potentially lovely and with no one else there bliss), and the bathrooms (dire), and then said there was no water available on the site (could have been disasterous but we did have half a tank). We only needed one night so stayed anyway but would not return!

Just outside Pons, by a campsite ON a river, its a perfect place for a meal, great food, great service, not expensive, 3 courses for 20 euros, very good wine, but its the setting thats JUST PERFECT, thoroughly recommended, apparently i could be wrong its recently changed owner or chef and has upped its game) I never went before, but found the whole evening faultless.
