Great hotel in Cranbrook, and the updates are looking great. My wife and I recently stayed at The Baker Hotel for 2 nights, and the staff in particular were amazing. The front desk at The Baker were extremely accommodating to our struggles thanks to Westjet (no baggage, then my parents flight the next day into Cranbrook also cancelled . We made good use of their laundry facilities (to wash newly purchased clothes... , the hotel was very conveniently located in the centre of town, and the room was well laid out for us to make full use of.Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future, and think it's well worth a stop if you are heading to Cranbrook.Rooms: The room we had was a...

When I stay at a hotel I expect 2 things; That my room is dark when I turn off the lights and the room is reasonably quiet. The room was not dark, as the blinds were broken and the street light was flooding in.The room was not quiet and I was unable to sleep due to constant thumping of music from the downstairs pub.I would suggest bringing a blindfold and earplugs if you want to have a restful night. The whole next day, I was fatigued and it really dampened my travels and experiences thru the Kootenays.Management should remember that the prime objective of housing travellers is to let them rest.Thank you.

From the minute Ian checked me to the end it was a lovely stay. The only drawback is the lack of stairs, but I knew about it in advance, so was able to ensure a 2nd floor room. I was given a lovely recently renovated queen room with a massive walk-in shower. The renovation was top-notch, right down to the pattern and spacing of the tiled floor. Nice toiletries too. I will absolutely be back. I recommend walking the two short blocks to the Heid Out for excellent food, bevies and service. The service at the resto under the hotel was less than great

I love the history of the hotel, it is over 100 years old, from the roaring 1920's. Some nods to the 20's décor( although I'm sure there wasn't grey paint over everything in 1920's). Loved the gold in our room and rich green velvet chair. (every room is unique and different) The bed was comfy, although the sheet wasn't meant for a deep mattress so it came off while sleeping. The air conditioning worked well. The shower drained and there was lots of hot water. Couldn't hear anyone else in the hall which was nice.
