this is your diner for special occasions. The extremely picturesque timer-frame mill looks like something out of a fairy tale. Renovated and kept in best shape, the building is located right at the edge of town, away from noise and traffic. You can still see the huge mill wheel turning on the outside wall, propelled by the gurgling little creek. The restaurant itself boasts several dining rooms, all of them beautifully and lovingly maintained and decorated. Table settings and service are 5-star quality, and so is the food – as well as the price, but for a special occasion, this is one of the best places to go in the area. During the summer months you can also suit outside in the small garden...
Restaurant Mühle in Allschwil has an excellent menu card with gourmet taste and medium prices. But this time I had the joy to be guest at a wedding in the big Mühlestall Eventhall, which can be booked over restaurant Mühle for groups up to 120 people. We had a wonderful BBQ-buffet , the quality and service was excellent. And the very special thing about Mühlestall is, that there is a huge game-park installed with game from all around the world. Really a lot of fun.
My wife and I live in Basel and have been to most of the nicer restaurants. This is a new favorite. Very nice and knowledgable staff, excellent food, and they accommodated my wife's vegetarian diet with really great variety (instead of the usual single pasta dish option she's used to at many places.) Will definitely be back. I highly recommend the 4-course surprise menu with wine pairing. Perfectly done!
The second time there was the food perfect again! Really recommended as a great option near Basel, in the heart of Allschwil. The building is charming. Thanks for the mill staff and boss.

It is a bit difficult to find a restaurant. But service and food is fantastic. It is worth to visit. Wine menu are also excellent.
