I have been eating here for pretty much my entire life as my family's house is in the area. Sadly over the last few years it has gone downhill. I do not know if the online order system is to blame, or simply changes in ownership and quality of the products. The last time we ordered, we made the mistake of using the online ordering and we will not do that again. The Chardog (a Grilled hotdog) was not grilled, and wasn't even warm to lukewarm, it was cold. Like it had been sitting in a fridge and then had condiments put on it. They used to have Merks cheese for the cheese fries. I'm not sure what they have now, but the cheese was broken and oily and gritty. I also asked for extra crispy fries,...
We sampled three different types of Chicago cuisine, and this was our first choice. The food arrived promptly through DoorDash. The Polish and bratwurst hot dogs were fantastic! They came with flavorful mustard and a variety of toppings. The portions were generous, and the bay seasoning on the fries was delicious! Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.

Just be ready to stand and find a creative spot to enjoy your meal if it gets busy. The outdoor seating is a nice option when the weather is warm. It never fails to impress!
If you’re searching for an authentic hotdog and burger spot, this is the place to go. I'm not a local, but I have to say, it’s likely the best restaurant we've visited so far! The fries were cooked to perfection, and the cheese cup is a must-try. My favorite item was the Polish sausage—it was fantastic!

Best Chicago dog, that you can get in the safety and comfort of Evanston. Sitting is limited, and cash is preferred at the register, but that is an amazing locally owned hot dog place with stories and cultural value for the neighborhood. They got combos and polish wieners.
A great Chicagoland Hot Dog place. Walked to the lake with my sweetie and on the way back had to have a dog and cheese fries. Yum yum.
