Very low key restaurant. Sadly, it has nothing to do with authentic Japanese cuisine, only names of the dishes. We ordered Teriyaki squid, tempura, sukiyaki and edomame. Sukuyaki and squid were absolutely the same taste: mix of soy souse with a lot of sugar and starch. Tempura was unprofessionally cuts of pumpkin (1piece) , eggplant (1 piece) plus two tasteless frozen prawns; the tempura batter was thick and moist. The only thing we could eat was edomame, as no cooking required for these. Will never go there again. Went to the restaurant a few years ago, and really enjoyed the experience; obviously it was different cook at that time.

Nakashima is a cozy restaurant hidden at the corner of Argyle Street. You will be greeted by friendly and pretty servers on your entry to the restaurant and service is excellent. Food wise, the sushi is not professionally made. As you can see, they are of different shapes and sizes. Nothing too bad but I probably will not come again.

Everything is simple here but still delicious. They do sushi very well! The hot pot was a bit too salty to my liking though. Don't expect fine dining but it is very good for a quaint little meal.

Nice venue, friendly staff and affordable and very tasty Japanese. Loved the wagyu beef with their sauce. No view of water. Decor is typical of low key Asian restaurant. Recommend.
