While we were only in Vancouver for a short time, we were fortunate enough to experience Marc Emery's Cannabis Culture. It all began on Beatty St. where we were greeted by like-minded individuals who were as compassionate about CC as we were. Our adventure led us to 307 where we were again greeted by very open-minded individuals who do not discriminate by any means. The folks under Marc and Jodie are setting a precedent of how this culture should be. It almost brings me to tears. Thank you. Thank you so much! From the East Coast with love!
We were told about the New Amsterdam Cafe by a Taxi Driver. He told us it was a totally "different" experience. It was a Pot smoking Bar with food. And you could buy pipes and papers, all the accessories but you bring your own pot. Mixed assortment of people, very smoky, but the food was out of this world. Truly. Funny, everyone was lighting up but they told a man he couldn't smoke a cigarette. Thought that was a hoot. Great for story telling, never seen this kind of place before. Pretty cool actually if you are into this...
Although this is not the usual kind of Cafe that I go to, I'm glad we went. It was a wonderful eye opening experience. This Cafe caters to the Cannabis culture. No worries here though, nobody seems to care. There is even a dispensary across the street that is very professional and not intimidating. The cafe staff seem to be very helpful and friendly. Judgement doesn't exist here. They offered a very basic menu including one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've had in a long time!
Wonderful customer service and a nice place to stop and have a break from the sea of faceless people that surround it. If it's before five head downstairs and sit in a comfortable place and smoke in peace. The staff will bring you anything you might need and for five dollars you can kick it as long as you need to. Called in to ask a few questions. The guy making coffees was very helpful and pointed me across the road for help. When I came back they made me a coffee and got the smoking equipment ready. Not having these shops near my home town makes it a real buzz to go in and check out. I strongly recommend this place for a coffee and a bong.
After walking the city streets, this place makes for a nice place to sit down and relax. Service here is nice and friendly. They offer smoking pieces for rent and water within reach in case you tend to cough your lungs out. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bud) policy.
If you are visiting the city for the first time. I would like to recommend you this place! Why? Because you have everything that you need, dispensary near by, WIFI and an amazing lounge where you can bring your own, smoke and TRAVEL TO JUPITER!
