I’m going to mention the encounter I had on 12 august. I phoned in to place a large order because I was having a party, I was very polite unfortunately I didn’t receive the same treatment, I was verbally abused and told that I was...a ‘dumb ****’. This left me speechless and the phone was abruptly cut. I phoned 2 times to settle the matter but the phone was turn down on me. He then picked up the 3rd time but it was a different worker, I kindly explained the matter to them and they said ‘ call the police then’ I said I didn’t want to take this matter forward as I come from a respectful family. I’ve been enjoying curries from The New Bombay for over 20 years and they make what are easily the nicest, freshest and most tastiest curries. They are not only (easily) the best in Bedford but are a strong contender for the best anywhere in the...UK. Due to their kitchen fire a couple of years ago and a change in my location I’ve had to put up with inferior (and more expensive) Indian food from other restaurants I had the opportunity to order takeaway from The New Bombay tonight (a Sunday night too) and am overjoyed to report that their legendary food is still just as good as ever. The re-location of a family business and the Covid crisis and a larger restaurant have NOT changed the fundamentals of New Bombay individually cooked dishes and stunning flavours. This was our first midweek curry night since lockdown and we were just delighted to hear...that the kitchen staff and waiters have all been retained. The meal dished up was superb and beautifully presented. We enjoy trying new things and sharing. The grill sizzler, Chicken Nawabi, Lamb Kogan, Chicken Chamak were brilliant and we added Saag Aloo, vegetable bhedi, rice and a cauliflower dish. Washed down with Cobra, obvs. Let's hope this slice of normal life can see us through the next six months.
Awesome outdoor curry ! I have visited a few times and have to say the addition of the outdoor dining area is great. In these tough times it’s great that New Bombay was able to adapt. It’s warm and so nice to be able to...enjoy a curry again. The food and service is excellent. We had the mixed starter which delicious, followed by a prawn vindaloo that packed a real punch. Shish and his team have worked really hard and it’s great to see them doing well. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks

Following an impressive home delivery, we decided to book a table on Saturday evening and we were not disappointed. In such difficult times the warm welcome, attention to service could not have been better. The quality and choice of the curry dishes and accompanying side...dishes was exceptional. We have struggled to find a curry house that can compete with Scottish curries . We will definitely be back and recommending the New Bombay to our friends. Thank you !
I ordered a ripper. beautiful chap has taken order. I had chicken bengal tenga. absolutely delicious. the aloo gobi was a beautiful bein. the pflaster rice tasted so beautiful and fresh. could really taste everything that the man had with chicken madras, and he ate this off. only on the...page no free poppadome or chutney. everything in all it was beautiful. would make a meal out there. We had a lovely takeaway yesterday evening. The food was ready when I arrived, and tasted really good and fresh when I got it home. They've refurbished the interior and it looks really nice. We've used New Bombay a few times during this weird period....Never disappoints!
