The food at New China Pearl is decent, but the service leaves much to be desired. I've been coming here intermittently for the past two years, and I finally reached my limit with the unfriendly woman working the counter. She serves customers but clearly lacks basic customer service skills. I've even seen her arguing with the kitchen staff. She charges for drinks she never brings and brushes it off with a "Next time, okay." I would avoid this place if you're looking for a pleasant dining experience.
New China Pearl is a traditional American Chinese restaurant. Their lunch specials cost $7.75 and come with soup and an egg roll. The staff are friendly and attentive. The ambiance is a bit plain, with no background music. The tables are roomy, providing ample space for dishes and drinks. The food is satisfactory—not exceptional, but quite good, especially considering the price!
I tried the lunch special for the first time today, and I have to admit I was quite disappointed. The chicken fried rice was mostly just rice, with only four tiny pieces of chicken. It was okay, but nothing special. I’m not sure how they’ve earned a 4.3-star rating; I certainly won’t be coming back.
