There was four of us on a Saturday night, we ordered the banquet, the food was lovely, fresh and delicious. The entrees came out with lightning speed, a little too quickly, with the mains arriving not long after. We really didn't have enough time to enjoy the food. The one thing we found irritating, was the waitress tried to upsell more entrees, I would understand if we hadn't ordered a banquet, but there so much food, we could barely get through what was in front of us.I would go back, but probably not order a banquet again, and just order off the menu.
My daughter and I went for lunch at Monkey King in Balgowlah today. We noticed a promotion for the new government meal voucher for Covid-19 at our table. However, when we tried to use our vouchers, we were told they were not valid during lunchtime. This was not made clear to us, and we ended up having to pay the full price for our meal. The employee we dealt with was unhelpful and kept insisting that we had to pay. This was very disappointing, and we will not be returning to this restaurant. We will instead use our vouchers at a different establishment.
My partner and I went to this restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day and we were pleasantly surprised. The prawn betel leaf dish is a must-try! We also enjoyed the three sister mushroom dish with jasmine rice. The coconut ice cream was heavenly. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff was friendly.
I had a large family gathering at this restaurant and ordered $300 worth of takeout. The food arrived promptly even though it was placed during a busy lunch hour. Overall, it was a great experience and everyone left happy.
