I took a drive to the university area on a Saturday afternoon looking for a place to eat and passed by Ngon Vietnamese Bistro. I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did! The cuisine here is Vietnamese/Asian fusion, featuring favorites like pho, spring rolls, and run mi. In the summer, there’s a lovely small outdoor terrace, but I chose to dine inside. The dining room is bright and cheerful, with vibrant colors and large picture windows at the front, making it fun to watch the trams pass by on the Green Line metro—Victoria St. stop is nearby.

my friend and I, on a larke, decided to drive to ngon bistro. this place is very large, many tables inside and outside, so that a place was getting a brise they noticed, they do not make reservations with less than five people. we had a couple of starters (pork rampe sandwich, due bao and the rabbit dumplings) they were all excellent. for our main courses we have pho (ribeye, very good and the bun shared. they were both excellent. we had a total of three drinks, the gin and the tonic was delightful, the shor was great that they used an amaro that was not aperol, it seemed nice and that manhattan; all done well. the personal was very friendly, they have one of those “see the menu and order on...
Ngon has a spacious ambiance and good service, making it a suitable spot for a date. However, I wasn't entirely satisfied with my meal. I ordered a tofu bowl that was overly simplistic and the portion size was quite small—only about 15 bites. At $10, I found it to be overpriced, especially for lunch. If they could add a few more vegan options, increase their portion sizes, and enhance the flavor profile of their dishes, this could truly be a gem of a Vietnamese restaurant. As it stands, it’s decent, but it’s definitely not living up to its full potential.

Ngon’s has fantastic food (it was one of my favorites before I became vegan), but they really need to expand their vegan options. Recently, we wanted to order from Ngon for a family dinner, but since there are four vegans in our group, we needed a variety of choices. Unfortunately, the current vegan offerings on the menu aren’t sufficient to accommodate us for a meal. With skilled chefs at their disposal, they should be able to create more substantial vegan dishes. Why isn’t Ngon stepping up to this challenge?
Our nephew recommended Ngon I am sure I would have never picked it. I tell you I am looking forward to going back. I just had the rice bowl with chicken, it was really good. Our nephew had the pasta and pork that's what I am going to have the time. From what I hear you will want to try it.
Amazing spring rolls (limited availability).And the Pho is absolutely amazing.There is a bar to sit at.The ambient lighting and music makes dinner for a great date night.I enjoy the usage of metal chop sticks. However they seem to not hold the noodles as well.
Update: patio is open. Dog friendly patio. The pho is so amazing! There are fun drink options and all local beers served. The owner places great importance on keeping the menu fresh and new. Great quaint atmosphere.
