Ah nineteen, long ago in birthdays and wedding anniversaries but right now for two delicious meals. A double-smoked bacon-wrapped scallop starter set the tone. The two scallops were perfectly cooked and the dollop of decadent, tomato-bacon marmalade almost made a dessert of it. We were excited to try this restaurant to celebrate our 5th anniversary. It was just ok. The service was very alright but not amazing - there was no asking how our night was, asking if we were celebrating anything, etc, just to the point asking what we'd like to order. We were expecting the food to be amazing, the prices are quite high but we're alright with that for a special occasion. However the food wasn't worth the price they were asking. I always judge a good restaurant by their consistency ... XIX is very very consistent, their dishes are amazing both in terms of flavour and presentation. I've been here many times and have probably had every dish on the appetizer and entree menu and I've never been disappointed. Whether you want a high level meal in a romantic setting or a relaxed couples setting, XIX has few peers in Edmonton. So why might you ask did I only give it 4 stars? Price ... Eight of our family enjoyed a great time together with delicious food at XIX today for Father's Day! Hubby said his omelet was the best he's ever had! Wow that's high praise from him! Eggs Benny with five spice was unique & delicious and turned out to be another favourite dish. Pancakes and cheesy scrambled eggs for the kids and their plates were totally cleaned of every bite! A cinnamon bun shared was a tasty finale! Thank you for great food and good service. We will return!
My wife and I went for a date night and were blown away. Made a reservation first. From the moment of calling to the moment of us saying goodbye and heading out the service was impeccable! The ambience is perfect for a romantic night out. The dishes were beyond unbelievable in presentation, aroma and flavour.
We went as 2 couples. The ambience is very nice and quiet. Very limited menu. The food is over rated from the reviews I have seen. Duck was tough and stringy, minimal sides although the duck portion was large. Veal was not very tasty and a bit rubbery. Service was excellent. Does not warrant a return trip.
Went for brunch and it's super tasty I got the waffles and chicken and man was it good, the waffles were fantastic and the chicken had so much flavour my only comment about the chicken is that it's wings, but they give you lots. Big protons, you won't leave hungry.I shall defiantly return.

If you have an Anniversary or special birthday to celebrate with friends, this is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal. It's a bit pricey but well worth it.
