North Shore Grinds definitely delivers North Shore portions! This is a hefty plate lunch place. In other words... it's not for the weak! After reading all the good reviews on the furikake opakapaka, I decided on that. I called my order in and it was ready in 20 min. They're located in a residential area in Kaimuki off of Waialae Ave and 10th Street. Parking is hard to find, as the residents seem to take up all the street parking. Came here because of the good reviews. Had to find street parking went mid morning and had no problem finding a spot. Very small eating area, but since it was just the 3 of us, the table they had available was suitable. A little scary going to the back to use their bathroom. (But at least they had a bathroom). Food portions were minimal for the price you pay. Mac salad was atrocious, no flavor at all. Katsu was okay, nothing special. I try my best to support small establishments spent around $40 here; But when you try to be nice to say thank you and you're reciprocated with ZERO appreciation, even a cold demeaner, I dunno. Absolutely delicious! I will come here on a regular basis. I had the seared ahi with cilantro pesto. On my drive home, from the aroma I knew it was going to be amazing and it was. Small place in a primarily residential area. I was not sure if I was going the right way but I was. Street parking in front. Looks like pre covid they had some indoor seating. Small selection of scratch made cookies. Canned drinks in a fridge.

Hands down one of the best lunch plates I've had in Hawaii. You can tell from the second you walk in that this is a solid family business, the owner is so kind and generous. We ordered the chicken katsu and mahi mahi, which was absolutely delicious. Mahalo for the wonderful meal!
This little place is fantastic. Meats are juicy, crispy, and fresh. Flavors are home-cooked deliciousness. Prices are fair, and the people are lovely. The whole family loved everything, and we will be returning. Thank you!
Mahi Mahi killas Everytime! Hard time choosing the menu so good!... Katsu in my opinion one of the best or even the best on island, with that horseradish katsu sauce it's one bangah!
