I had a very positive impression about this cafe situated close to the Botanic garden. The location is very nice, vibrant colours with some cute plants and objects that reminds Italy and everything looks tidy and clean. The menu offer a lot of different foods. We opted for a sandwich sausages and friarielli and and a casserole with tomatoes sauce, beans, egg and sausages and both were really tasty. The coffee i ordered was really nice and at perfect temperature (and boiled milk i tried in other places! . The desserts displayed look all nice and the one i picked i found delicious. Not sure when it changed hands from the people after the Italian couple, but this was the first time I had been since it was extended into next door. Staff were very friendly but not particularly attentive. Food was good without being outstanding. Coffee was excellent and the price point was reasonable for quality and location. However, the cafe staff allowed, almost encouraged people who had dogs up onto the table and chairs. Staff Handling and petting them then working away on cafe duties is disgusting and a red flag for hygiene. They allowed dogs onto the tables. Who would want to eat off a table knowing a canine had its filthy paws (and other parts) on it? Wont be back.
Been several times to meet friends and family for coffee or lunch as its nearby for us all. The staff are always helpful and polite they will discuss the menu and ask the chef if he can make small changes like less chili etc. The staff seem to enjoy working there and are a great team Ive had several items from the menu but you cant beat their breakfasts even the bacon roll seems extra! Im a fussy coffee drinker but they take it in their stride and now remember what I like when I go in, It always seems busy and has a fun vibe about it. The billionaires shortbread is amazing but too much in one go, fortunately if you ask they will box up anything for you to take home.
Friendly cafe . Menu was great for breakfasts … we had between us Shakshuka , veggie omelette , full Scottish breakfast sausage baps . So lots of choices for different taste buds ! We aren’t local but will revisit when in area again ! Staff lovely .

North start reopened with new ownership in February 2023. We had a couple of coffees, an omelette and sourdough toast with sausage egg and roasted pepper. Atmosphere, service and our orders were all excellent. We will be back!
Come here at least once a week for a breakfast and I am always satisfied! The food is top notch quality and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. It’s a great wee find! My go to breakfast/lunch spot!
My friend and I loved this cafe. Its friendly staff give you a warm welcome. We shared a large hot breakfast which was delicious. The food is great here and prices are good. What a joy to return!
Great coffee (had a flat white and an americano) but service slow and not the cheapest. Also didn't have the best selection of cakes last week they didn't have any cakes at all).

The menu has changed and not for the better. My eggs were raw and they have changed to a cheaper menu I think. Loved this wee place but gutted that it has changed
