We actually booked this for a birthday dinner when we got there our table hadn't been reserved then got talking to the chef he has been in the game for 35years so I was excited as I love a good steak we ordered our food,went to the salad bar wasn't a great selection and what I tasted wasn't that good our steaks arrived so plane I got chips and my partner got a jack potato and we both got sauces Dianne and a mushroom the jack potato was a joke was a potato wrapped in foil nothing else no butter sour cream or anything my partners steak was charcoaled on the outside and not seasoned tasted terrible my steak wasn't as bad but still no flavor and the taste of carbon now the worst part was the sau...
My husband and I were regulars when the old owners had the place and were very excited to see new owners finally come in. When they first took over the food was great and it was a very promising start, however the 'new chef' that was there last time we visited was terrible. We ordered the crackling to share as a starter, for $7 we got a few small bits of ok crackling in a plastic bowl, for main we got rump steaks, both were terrible quality, no option with the steaks, only came with chips, salad bar was mediocre at best and the sauce that came with the flavourless unseasoned steaks was also flavourless. Well if you are expecting this to be good like it was with the old owners then you will be disappointed as the food is at a higher price with no love put in . Tomahawk steak was good but others at table had gristle and around $40 mark for 350 g steak with chips or dry old potato on side and mediocre sauces. Oh and it is not a salad bar when there is only 4 salads to choose from and they didn't taste fresh and no vege options. Kids steak was so small $15 was a ripoff . And be prepared to pay $13 for apple crumble for dessert . Won't be coming back as I think for the price you can find a lot better places to eat in Cairns. This is an old school place that's been there for a very long time and never disappoints, I have seen other posts and feel like that haven't seen the good but for me and my friend's it's a great place, food great and plenty of it, staff are wonderful, price's are at a price that is comparable to the others here in cairns, so I would recommend it to others to go and have a great steak, salad and a great feeling to it all

Myself and 4 friends decided to try the steakhouse and was very surprised with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff there. We had steaks and the TOMAHAWK was amazing 600g for 40$ was great. Also included for us was a FREE salad bar , yeah we had a good feed and will be dining next week for sure. I want to thank Savannah and the rest of the team for taking care of us once again. We thoroughly enjoyed the steaks, fresh salad bar, and jacket potatoes. This restaurant is a fantastic local spot with affordable prices. They even offered a 50% discount for kids during the Easter break. We will definitely be returning to show our support for this great spot at least once a week. Thank you, Northerner.
My friends and I decided to give this restaurant a try after learning that it had recently re-opened. Despite a few minor mistakes from the wait staff, they were all very warm and accommodating. Our food arrived promptly and was delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly, ranging from well-done to medium rare. The sauces were also very tasty. Overall, we highly recommend giving this place a try.
The place was great. Second time been there.. good food for a good price.. staff friendly and helpfull ... not too many places in cairns where 2 people can have a nice feed and a drink for under 50 bucks..Its not the big flashy dinner for 2 but for us as a nice place to eat and no washing up its great ... is a nice place to go for a nice meal at a decent price.... give it a go os my advice

I hadn't been here for a few years, whilst I'm no expert the place was as hot as hell, the aircon didn't seem to be working and the staff, well you couldn't really tell who they were as no one wore a uniform, the steak was over cooked and to be honest chewy and tough
