I’m a lifelong fisheries fan but since the takeover by Roberts it seems to have gotten worse everytime I’ve visited The original staff have left, and replacements often seem frantic and unorganised I’ve visited on three occasions on Friday nights to be told they don’t have stock or have ran out of specific fish sauces and this is an hour or so before closing Tonight there was a queue out the door, and despite there being five staff behind the counter it was chaos inside. It seems priority is given to telephone orders rather than patrons in the shop. The cheque system appeared chaotic; staff picking up and attempting to make the same orders while other customers had waited considerable amount...
We were in search of a new fish and chip shop after our local favorite closed down. A family member recommended Norton Fisheries to us, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience there. There was no line when we arrived, but the service was quick and friendly. We ordered two fish and chip specials, and the staff helped us choose the best option for our preferences. The food was served in cardboard boxes to keep it warm, and wooden forks and napkins were provided for our convenience. Arrived at7.20pm they closed at 8. Waited outside behind 3 other people as per COVID rules. Person in the front of the queue was shouted to enter the shop, the lady behind the counter shouted at the customer inside shop that he could only have what was left. Then shouted through window at the people that were waiting now a queue of 5 that they had no chips now and not cooking anything else. Everyone was aghast that a chip shop was not still cooking at 7.35 and that the queue was not informed earlier. Just been for fish and chips for family and when I got home I was surprised to find a box of fish bites instead of a fish that I paid for.opened wife's box to find just the same. I paid full price for food that was given to me because they didn't want to waste them. i never ordered waste. I go there every week. But not anymore. Thought customers were treated better than that. Shame on you for trying to give waste and cheat me by charging full price. Lost me and my familys custom.

This global pandemic brings out the worst best in people. Sadly for the two females in this shop it’s brought out the worst. You should respect your customers as they are the reason you open your doors every day. Speak to them like something you scrape off your shoe you will soon be serving no one, especially the screaming banshee behind the fryer. Time for a new regular chippy where a customer is treat with respect
Tried the fisheries a few times over the years to find them a bit hit and miss. However since the new owners have got to grips with the place it looks great, smells better and turns out consistently good food. I am now a regular and often call the order in which is always ready on arrival.
I was completely dismayed today when I entered the restaurant with my service dog!! The new owner's treatment of me and my dog was completely unacceptable, and I will not be coming back!! My service dog was clearly identifiable with her coat and leash.
I am a regular of Norton fisheries, sometimes twice a week , the quality of the fish and chips are outstanding and the staff are so friendly and polite why go anywhere else ? Highly recommend this place you won’t be disappointed

Just had the best fish and chips ever, cod bites, great portion, onion rings to die for, chips spot on. Since the most recent change of owners things have improved greatly, keep it up and hope you prosper.
Chicken curry and chips were served cold in a cardboard box. The cardboard box actually tasted better than the bland curry and flavorless chunks of chicken. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
