We started with an order of Zaatar fries [where have you been all my life]. They arrived crispy and seasoned to perfection. They need nothing, but a side of lebneh to dip in would take them over the top; note to self for next time... Next out was a huge and stunning platter, the mixed grill for two. I tried the zaatar manakish (thyme with sesame seed on a dough with pomegranate lemonade. Perfect combo! The food tasted fresh and delicious! I also ordered Atayef pancakes to go, these go very well with ricotta cheese (or Ashta! and sugar syrup or honey. The perfect Lebanese pancakes! Other pies I 've tried: lahmajyoun (meat pie and Akawi cheese pie. The lahmajyoun was delicious, freshly baked. However, the Akawi cheese was baked on a pre-made pizza crust, it was ok but not great. I recommend you try the regular cheese pie instead.
I've been ordering takeout and dining at Nouri's Café for the past five years, and every time, the food has been outstanding. Owner George Nouri is the epitome of a dedicated restaurateur and manages everything exceptionally well. My top picks are the kibbe balls, shish tawook platter, spinach pies, and eggplant salad, all of which deliver an incredible explosion of flavors. I spent $25.45 on a pack of 12 frozen Kebeh, and I was really disappointed. The outer shell was mostly just bulgur wheat paste, with hardly anything else. The filling contained barely half an ounce of cooked ground meat and just three pine nuts. Overall, they lacked flavor and were definitely not worth the price.
We enjoyed some delicious halal food in a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the zaatar pie, meat pie, and a shrimp platter, and each dish was fantastic. The staff member at the counter was very friendly and accommodating, even treating us to a complimentary dessert.
This is a fantastic restaurant with friendly staff. I tried the Egg and Cheese Boat, and it was both delicious and flavorful!
