I really liked this place. We went out of season and had been walking on the cliffs near Sagres. We needed somewhere to eat and we could not find anywhere open. What a relief when we found this place. It is really genuine Portuguese food, not fancy but authentic. It was not necessarily the finest quality but it was well cooked, very tasty and very satisfying. We ordered a meal that consisted of rice, chips, steak and chicken. It was cooked the way that my Portuguese and Brazilian friends cook at home when we visit. Great find after a morning of walking the Levada dos Thornes. We stumbled on this great place for lunch whilst waiting for the return bus to Funchal. The staff offered us a selection of specials and we selected the tuna steak salad. The food was fresh, tasty and we had a good serving. Great coffee to finish and all at a good price.
the room is small and the windows are partially made of glass, which makes it very hot in summer. there are frozen fish dishes (squid, cuttlefish... and they use a lot of olive oil in the food. Fried prawns were good. It doesn't have a good quality-price ratio, and the service is not particularly friendly.
The waitress was lovely but unfortunately the fish was not fresh. One of our party was a chef in Michelin star restaurant and I am expert fish eater. The mineral water was good though. Book a table now
Lugar acolhedor, com bom serviço e um sanduíche bem gostoso! Ambiente agradável e de bons amigos com música e karaoke que nos dão oportunidade de distração garantida. Recomendo.
Lovely food and great value for money. We went back twice. Puddings were great and the mixed grill at 12 Euro great value. Staff were friendly and attentive.
