My husband and I often pop to Bar O Sado on Saturday mornings for a latte to get the weekend started in a gentle way. It is a little Portuguese cafe in the centre of Peterborough 's Lincoln Road right next to the bus station. Named after a Portuguese River in the owner 's home town we believe. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the staff are all warm and friendly. Dora, the welcoming owner, is always keen for us Brit 's to try some authentic Portuguese cuisine in the evenings. We have had many evening meals there, the grilled king prawns and meat kebab dishes are divine and definitely worth a try! After your evening meal you should also try the after dinner fortified wine-just ask Dora as we 'v...

This restaurant is very small but it is definitely a massive jewel in the crown for Portuguese food and restaurants. A warning to people going on their own…the portions are princely! It is a family owned place but I expect some family recipes are used because the infusion of beautiful flavours and spices are charismatic! I think that the chef is a genius with food! The service is really nice and genuine, the owner was really hospitable and helpful, nothing was too big or too small for her. I think people expect good food to come from big cafes or michelin star restaurants. I have been to some of those popular and highly rated restaurants acclaimed by food critics. But this tops the lot! Trut...
Situated among other small Restaurants and take Aways along Lincoln Road. Amazing atmosphere, like being in a Portuguese tavern. It was welcoming and like eating with the family. Good friendly service, everything was explained to you and nothing was too much trouble, bring us samples to try they also cater for the English pallet. My Portuguese husband loved it, and was overjoyed to with tripe stew. There was lots of choice on the menu too if you want to try something different. The deserts were traditional Portuguese and these were yummy, we had some biscuit cake. The Service was excellent and the food was great value for money. Totally enjoyed the experience. Thanks
I have been familiar with this restaurant for a while now, as it used to be one of the top places in Peterborough for experiencing authentic Portuguese flavors. From a delightful range of coffees to enjoy in-house or to go, to a diverse selection of beers including Portuguese brands, as well as traditional tapas and sweet treats, this place has it all. The recently renovated premises are impressive, especially the front shop. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant. Book a table now
I have been a regular at this restaurant since it opened. The service is fantastic, the food is great, and the portion sizes are generous. The Portuguese wines, beers, spirits, tapas, desserts, and famous espresso all showcase the delicious flavors of Portugal. The recently updated decor adds to the overall experience. The quality of the food compared to the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.
We have been to many good restaurants, this was great, Great atmosphere, staff and food. We ate what the waitress recommended and were not disappointed. Cod baked in cream and barbecued squid king prawns, salad and potatoes, All were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. House red and coffee were icing on the cake. With starters, best £35 we've spent on a dinner out.
Our welcome could not have been friendlier and the lady looked after us very well but what the chef did to the sea bass I ordered, I do not know. It was inedible. My husband however enjoyed the meat dish he ordered. Sorry, but can't recommend.
I visited this restaurant with a friend for tapas and a few beers. The food was great, the beers were ice cold, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The chicken gizzards, in particular, were absolutely delicious! Book a table now
Real home made portuguese food. The Service is very good and the food is even better. Must try bolo de bolacha or pudim de ovos for dessert.
