We were lucky to be seated quickly in what seemed like a busy time for lunch, mostly locals. We were advised against ordering the chicken as it would ‘take too long’ and ordered the beef instead as well as some bread and olives for starters. The prices were very low considering the large portion sizes. The salad of tomatoes, onions and lettuce were fresh and of reasonable quality nothing remarkable, but well made, simple and hearty. The meat we ordered took about an hour and 5 minutes, though we noted that the table seated way after us were served in about 15 20 minutes similar meat dishes. I are here twice in recent weeks and the food was good both times. Simple grilled food, chips and salad. The fish was my favourite but only available on certain days. Other things include chicken and sausage. There is no system for finding a table so it’s take one when you can. And when you’ve found one there appears to be no chronological taking of orders. But the bar is full of local characters including a group playing music one of whom was more drunk at lunchtime than I have seen anybody for many years. Not nice for the eating customers to watch the mess! That said, if you want good simple food, cheap wine or beer, an interesting atmosphere and a great view then it’s worth trying.

The food is excellently prepared, mostly on a barbecue, we were there on a Tuesday which is fresh fish day, the staff are helpful and attentive, and to dine outside, under parasols, with wonderful views of the Guadiana River and Sanlúcar across the river makes everything perfect. Lovely meal, great food, meat centric but beautifully done. Monday there is no fish because the boats don't go out Sunday, but will return to try the fish next time! Recommended
