Sweet diner inside and outside. Retro-Decor: vinyl albums, 8 track and cassette tapes, vintage metal punch boxes and old license plates line the walls. A mounted wall TV played Brady Bunch shows all the time. It was mother's day and many customers were out, so it was pretty crowded. Limited space between some of the interior tables made it difficult to navigate waiters and customers easily. (Possible another configuration of the tables right of the door could help a bit. Very extensive menu: I chose the Welshaus. (Sorry no photo). The fish was a generous part and delicious, but personally I would have preferred less bread. Big place that has been holding a lot of nostalgia for street divers for decades. Updated menu that has many contemporary dishes, as well as old favorites like the cookies and Gravy I had. My wife had her favorite corn cattle **** (she rated it 10 out of 5). Probably our regular place will be worth it even if there is a bit of a car. Best sausage pigs around, and they didn't put my eyes on the order of the fried eggs that came out perfectly. Plainfielders are lucky to have this jewel.
Second time recommended The tenderloin this week. This time it was very good. I you are by Plainfield it is definitely the place to stop. I enjoyed my meal of tenderloin and a side of cottage cheese. I 100% will try this place again. Right now it's one of my favorites for a quick bite.
Such a sweet diner! The food was very delicious. I tried the catfish (my first time I tried catfish) and it was incredible! A crispy outside and soft melted inside. In addition, the prices for the amount of food you have! I'd definitely come back here. To remember a night with friends
