This restaurant is an absolute must if you are after a special meal, but make sure you make a reservation. The restaurant was very busy for a Sunday evening, which was a good sign. The menu is very extensive, with a daily special menu of five courses, which three of our group chose. The courses were just the right size, and decent gaps in between. The food was expertly presented, and the ingredients were of high quality. Everything was just perfect, and none of us could criticise anything. Probably one of the best restaurants in Oberallgäu at reasonable prices for great value. It's eating delicious Bavarian food in a museum. Also great for children to roam the large garden. The menu offers a good variety of typical local food. The meat is grilled on open fire, sauces are freshly made etc and the portions are well sized. The staff are super friendly and going out of there way to make the guest experience the best.
We were lucky to get a reservation the same day on short notice and had a chance to sit next to the kitchen. In this buidling from 1433 we were able to watch how the food was prepared and enjoyed a variety from lamb, cows and deer. To sum it up, it was a reasonable price for real good food!PS: Dont forget to shop their homemade milk products - the cheese is awesome
The restaurant Obere Mühle is a comfy place with wonderful food. You can sit in the traditional main room and enjoy cheese soup or beef stew with home-made "Spätzle. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting the area. All the waitresses were really nice and welcoming.
