**Restaurant Review** **Service:** Takeout **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** $30–50 **Food:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 **Service:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 **Atmosphere:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 **Recommended Dishes:** Jamaican Patties, Brown Stew Chicken, Mac and Cheese This restaurant provides an exceptional takeout experience. The food is outstanding, earning a perfect rating for its flavor and quality. The service is equally impressive, making the ordering process smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere, even from a distance, conveys a warm and inviting vibe. I highly recommend trying the Jamaican Patties, Brown Stew Chicken, and the Mac and Cheese!
Ocho is my go-to place for Jamaican cuisine! Their jerk chicken is incredibly tender, packed with flavor, smoky, and just the right level of spice. The rice and peas are so well done that I find it hard to resist going back for seconds, and the plantains are always soft and sweet. The cabbage is seasoned to perfection and has a lovely buttery texture—simply delightful. I always make sure to order a ginger drink to complement my meal. Usually, the oxtails are so tender that they nearly fall off the bone, but on my last visit, they weren't quite as tender as I expect, which was a bit disappointing.
I don't understand how a Black Jamaican restaurant doesn't serve lunch from 12 to 2 PM on Juneteenth, a holiday that celebrates Black culture. It's disappointing to see a business that is part of the Black community not offering specials or even serving lunch during lunch hours. Instead of capitalizing on the holiday, they should be celebrating it by supporting their community. Unfortunately, we decided to walk out without placing an order because of this. It was just really disappointing. Book a table now
This is the best Jamaican food in the area! I really love their oxtail and curry goat, but all the other main dishes are great as well. The patties are incredible—perfectly spicy and packed with flavor. The sides are fantastic too, making it tough to choose just three. The interior of the restaurant is pretty basic, similar to other Jamaican spots, but we usually opt for takeout. Service: Takeout Meal type: Dinner
This restaurant definitely deserves five stars—it's simply out of this world! I just had the most incredible jerk chicken, complemented by beans and rice, plantains, cabbage, and greens. My taste buds are in heaven! This family-owned treasure is really something special. The food is homemade, and the owner is a charming elderly woman. I can't recommend this place enough!
This restaurant consistently offers excellent fast service during lunch hours. The older woman at the front desk is always incredibly friendly when taking orders. I typically visit once a week to explore different items on the menu, and the food never disappoints. So far, I’ve tried the curry chicken, jerk chicken lunch combo, and the mac and cheese. Service: Takeout.
This is not authentic Jamaican food. The fat from the oxtail wasn't trimmed, and the rice was oversaturated with gravy, making it difficult to digest. Additionally, the festival was not like the traditional version; instead, I found myself biting down on a roll stuffed with ginger. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. Book a table now
The food here is consistently incredible and genuinely authentic. This is my favorite place in California. The beef patties and mac and cheese are absolutely delicious, and the rice and peas are amazing as well. Everything is always flavorful!
