Was in the area, so thought we’d visit where a relative from Wales says she had the best poached egg on toast a few years ago. Sadly, I didn’t realise that it’s closed on Wednesdays. Just as we were about to get back in the car the owner pulled up. What an amazing friendly welcome, she offered to make us a cup of tea and some cake. Dropped in for a quick snack with a former pupil of the Old School and resident of the village. We were delighted to find that the Tea Rooms were dog friendly and welcoming. We had coffees and the most delicious home-made cream and jam scones, (the dog had water! . After browsing the menus we will definitely be returning to this little gem.

What an enchanting little tea room in an old school. We sat there being reminded of our own school days, admiring a lovely selection of photos and paintings on the walls while enjoying beautiful sandwiches the chicken Tikka was amazing) followed by a delightful cream tea. We’re coming again!

We came in today and although it was quite busy, we were greated and seated quickly. We enjoyed two bowls of homemade soup which was lovely with warmed rolls which was a nice touch. The two ladies were very chatty and friendly. Fast efficient service. Will definitely visit again.
