In October my wife and I considered that we had found yet another excellent Restaurant in this delightful town of Saarburg . After a morning's drive from Aachen we decided to eat there once again with the idea of certainly enjoying a schnitzel of...excellence as we had been accustomed to do on several occasions months previously. When served we were surprised that the quantity served and the quality had detiorated. The meal consisted of a schnitzel and a poor side salad of which just lettuce and tomato including olive oil were requested. On a hot, sunny Sunday I wanted to have ice cream and drinks at this nice looking restaurant with my four little children and several adults. The young waiter, whose whole behaviour and body language was screaming I hate my job only bother coming to...our table after giving a sign five times. No word of greeting, no smile, just You want the menu We placed our order with this disgruntled employee and watched him being impolite with an elderly lady. Operation was ok but the food was nothing! It looked quite good at first sight but the salad floats in very sharp vinegar not edible! The toast is no longer sweeter and cold from the inside. Whether this is a learned cook, I dare to doubt it. 1. The boss let me sit for 10 minutes before you thought it was necessary to come, apologize didn't offer you any better,but only asked if I didn't want to eat the meat at least! 2. The fact that you do not see the amount of vinegar on the photo is clear as the salad was significantly higher than the plate but I give them right I should have put the salad aside what the cook should have done. 3. For this toast 3.50 € I do not consider a bargain but ok....
I have been to this place several times, hoping it will be better next time, but it never is. For Saarburg, this place has the youngest feel of all the venues, but it is run by a pair of out-of-touch locals who don't know much...about hospitality and catering in the century. Considering the décor and location, it is the kind of place which should be bouncing from wall to wall with live bands, dancing and entertainment every weekend but instead it has the unwelcoming feel of a local café that has been mainly subsidised by the same small group of clients for years and that seems to be how the owner likes it tourists are not greeted with any enthusiasm and the service is slow if there are more...

I had already rated this restaurant in summer, but very negative, because the experience was not good at that time. On the day we were eating there, there was a lot of going on and there can be a lot of going wrong. I wanted to give the Schnitzelhaus a second chance and was there a few days ago when very little operation was. The food was much better than when it was high. This might be a hint: if not the whole place is full of guests, then you have a good taste experience at a reasonable price. I'm going to eat again, but on quiet days. Addendum: Today very well eaten there in the afterseason and the service was great.
Nice outdoor area. A lot of choice in the menu. Food card and drink card are separated! Nice operation, already a little older, but accommodating. Our dog even got a leak from the ladies. Food is delicious and has also been served quickly. Price/performance for a tourist area in order. Toilets are very clean and tidy. 50 cent toilet use for not guests is justified. All in all very satisfactory. Come back.
Eating was not good, tasted like frozen food... pruning sponge in fat. Water bottle was full of dirt... operation was OK. They were there in the afternoon, where little was going. Ging pretty fixed, but really not worth the money. Einrichrung reminded of pub, it smelled like frituse and the chairs were ancient and cheap... Never again! Don't understand all the good reviews. Well, maybe somewhere else.
The most unfriendly restaurant I have ever been. The food is ok, but the service is terrible, they rather want you to leave then to order something. The faces of the two older waitresses are on a thunderstorm while the young waitress tries to do...her best, which is difficult with two of the most annoying and grumpy woman on the terras I have ever met.

The selection is plentiful. Quality and quantity are good. We were here for the first time and will return again. If you want more quality and service, go to a star restaurant.
