I was telling my colleague about my New Orleans trip and the joys of crawfish and they told me they never had crawfish before. What?!?! They thought it was like a shrimp. I'm like no no no it's more like a baby lobster. Let's go! On the Hook was a convenient halfway spot for us to meet for a lunch meeting. Service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed the seasonal halloween decor, super cute. We shared their Fried Calamari $13.99) as an appetizer. It was battered and crispy, but the batter would easily fall apart so at some point we gave up and just picked it up like finger food. They have Great food at reasonable prices of today. I love that I can eat healthy or maybe indulge, whatever I want. Our service was amazing as Jonathan was so helpful and attentive. My friend had 100 questions and requests and he was so patient. It's a fun place to try a little something different, like shrimp and grits or low boil. The salmon was perfect with the non spicy Cajun season and the mint mojito was surprisingly good at $8 made with cuban wine.
The raw oysters were a bit on the small side but easy to enjoy. The wings (Hook) had a delightful sweet and spicy garlic flavor, and they were perfectly crispy. The Lemon Pepper wings, on the other hand, lacked the same intensity of flavor but still had a decent crunch. The fish taco was crispy and not overly fishy, making it a pleasant choice. Pro tip: Happy hour is from 4:30 PM until close on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays!
The workers here were very nice to me and my mom. The cups are mason jars which is really cool. There's always good music and a good vibe. Food was good, I got Calamari and Fish n Chips 9/10. My mom got fish tacos and she rated them 10/10. Only negative was Oysters but I have a sensitive texture palette but, my mom loved them. They were very quick with bringing out the food and the tables were big. Recommend Book a table now
Absolutely FABULOUS THE staff was SUPER friendly and attentive. The food was fresh, and delicious. Started with yummy sweet potatoe fries, then side salad with Asian dressing. Followed by salmon with garlic cream sauce, and vegetable medley. It was so so yummy. We ended our meals with the beignet.. OMG.. OOH LA LA. DEFINITELY my new favorite restaurant
My Brother in-law told me about how fantastic the food is at On The Hook. A party of 10 of us went to find out for ourselves, and On The Hook did NOT disappoint! Such great dishes with so much flavor...yum! Our server, Amy, was the best! She served with such professionalism and enjoyment. We will definitely be going back!?
The food was very good! I liked it so much that I brought my family for my birthday. They made it special by having the whole restaurant sing happy birthday to me! We all love the bubbling soap to wash your hands.
