Went for the crab boil and Friday night specials. The crab boil was good and had a nice variety of crab legs, half a corn on the cob, some mussels, and sausage along with a melted butter dip. For $30 it was filling but not but the greatest bang for you buck. Extra Legs were another $25 which was little much for a “deal night”. Appies were tasty! One downside to the whole experience was our waiter(Nicole , I’ve gotten bad service before but have never been actually mistreated. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! The manager kept hovering around our table the whole time we were there, not sure if it was because we are visibly indigenous. Once we were done our food the waiter (not our waiter) cleared our table. We ask for a to go box, paid for our drinks and food then walked out. As we were about to get into our vehicle to leave, the manager and bouncer walked up to us and asked if we stole a plate? Mind you the plate was massive, it would NOT have fit in the bag they gave us. The waiting staff are nice but that was totally uncalled for. We were there on a Friday night DJ to start the night and a band was setting up for later on in the evening (we did not stay for the band). But the place was filling up and looked like it would be a fun night (older crowd)! food: we were there for their crab boil (last Friday of every month). Great value for . Good sized crab great flavour. Would be nice to have extra sides more potatoes or a nice rice More veggies. We ordered garlic toast from their menu to go along with our meals.
My brother, my boyfriend I were on a mission to find the best wing night in YEG. We tried a few different spots before going to On The Rocks heard great things from Family friends so we had to check it out. Now we come here all the time for wing night. The amazing selection of flavours inexpensive price knocks it out of the park for us. We recommend the Honey Garlic, Lemon Pepper, Dill Pickle, Mango Habanero Dry Rub Franks Red Hot. The service is always outstanding aswell. Very kind waitresses the staff seem to genuinely enjoy working there. Definitely recommend!!

They had Latin dancing lessons followed by several hours of music to perform those dances to, which was really fun! The drinks I had were pretty good, too. The staff were amazing, with particular thanks to our waitress, Kalen. I had something unpleasant happen to me that left me shook (nothing dangerous- I'm trans and it was just whiplash of someone going from nice to being a jerk). She took a few moments to talk to me to make sure I was alright and get my mind off of things until one of my friends took a break from dancing.
Went here on a Friday night and our server was named Taylor. Not once did I need to ask for a drink refill,she was on top of if! she was personable, kind and actually pretty funny. She recommended the wings. Which were incredible. You can tell she’s good at her job cause I noticed people asking to sit in her section. I never really would have recommended OTR to friends till her service, I now plan on making it a frequent stop for my and my hubby
The bartenders that I have been served by are polite, professional and kind people. They make the bar more than a bar. Thanks Chad, Eric, Dell and Cory. Also the doorman/security are excellent at their jobs and they are so welcoming. They are your first contact and they leave me with a positive interaction each time I see them. I like going to OTR for a night out or karaoke. Today was the first time I ever did lunch. It’ll be the last. I had a beef dip with fries and it was probably the oiliest food I’ve ever eaten. I squeezed my sandwich just to get rid of the fats. The fries were about two minutes underdone. All in all, I’m glad I waited this long to eat the food. I’ll stick to Salsa Nights.

on the rocks is a great atmosphere but they cram way too many people in there we can’t even move that’s why we had to leave because we couldn’t even get a table to sit down that and you couldn’t even move it was wall-to-wall people not a good experience stop putting so many people in the place and it would be much better
