Having seen the overwhelmingly positive reviews for this place I was excited to go and check it out.We arrived ambitiously on a weekend brunch time but only had a 10 minute wait for a table. The main server at front of house was very courteous and helpful which made for a promising start.Following getting our table it was a struggle to get our order taken. The other waiters didn't seem to be clued on and eventually the front of house guy came to our rescue and took our orders.Then came the wait, and waiting, and waiting further until our food arrived 45 minutes after our order. I know weekends are busy but they've been open for a while so have all the statistics in terms of expected volumes...
After reading the reviews for this cafe we visited it last week after landing in Melbourne and needing to wait for our room to be ready. It is also close to the Queen Victoria Markets were we needed to go for supplies so it was doubly handy. Notwithstanding the convenience, the cafe exceeded all of our expectations (which when in Melbourne are high). The cafe has mostly shared tables, we we do not mind, the coffee which we started with was good quality and then the food was AMAZING! This is my local coffee shop that I visit most days. The coffee is very good and the breakfasts delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable and staff friendly. The only issue I have with this place is that they charge 0.50 extra for card transactions under $10. This means when I stop by for a takeaway coffee it ups the price to $5 if I don't have cash.
This cafe is opposite the hotel we were staying at, Pegasus, so we popped in for breakfast on the first day and went back everyday. I think it must be an old telephone exchange building. All the decor is about telephones. The food is egg-cellent, perfect poached eggs. Friendly staff. Mixture of tables, bar seats and large round tables. Book a table now
This place is a good little find. A little on the too cool for school side, but my breakfast was nice. I guess it's hard to find any place these days that isn't a smidge hipster. Maybe I'm just getting old... still worth checking out if you are nearby.
We all had various forms of eggs on toast with were very nice. I also had the matcha latte, which I didn't like overly. The orange juice was really good fresh! The rest of the menu was quite trendy, not too many vegetarian options.
Smallish place with atmosphere. You will probably have to share a table with others, but that's no big deal. The food and the coffee are great. The menu puts a Japanese slant on dishes. Well worth a visit. And not bad value
We had the best brunch here of our month-long Australia trip. The Teriyaki Benedict was just so delicious, as was the smoothie bowl! Had a short wait for a table and can see why it's so popular as the concept is fantastic! Book a table now
Nice little hidden away spot. Wonderful breakfast choices, vegan and glutenfree options. Friendly staff, quick service and the food is delicious! If you get a chance pop in there for their special Avocado Coffee.
