I used to enjoy this restaurant, but my experience last Friday was disappointing. They got my take-out order wrong, and when I called to address it, the response was rude and unapologetic. I had ordered the Chef Special with scallops and shrimp in spicy sauce, but the shrimp were overcooked and rubbery, and there were no scallops—only a lot of mushrooms. When I called, the woman who answered insisted she had packed the scallops and claimed she saw them in the dish. When I asked if she was accusing me of lying in the middle of my meal at 9:30 pm, she denied it but still insisted scallops were present. This was my first time visiting Orchid Fine Asian Cuisine. I met a friend for lunch, and the restaurant was very clean with friendly, smiling staff. The food was delicious. You have to try the Roti curry appetizer—it's unique and absolutely tasty. I ordered the Kao Pao chicken with vegetable fried rice; the portion was perfect for lunch and came with miso soup. I really enjoyed dining there. My friend, who had been several times before, insisted I try it, and I’m glad I did. Horrible customer service etiquette! I walked in with my family and the front staff were completely disorganized. We were told to wait for 20 minutes to be seated in which we patiently did while other customers walked in. After 20 minutes because there were so many people waiting in the front I asked if we could at least sit at a table in which many were open and was rudely told “No more seating only take out!” I asked why we weren’t told that instead of wasting our time when we were told otherwise and was told that’s what I’m being told now. The staff at Orchid Fine Asian Cuisine are incredibly welcoming, and the menu offers a great variety of options. I tried the special sommee, which was absolutely delicious. However, the chicken katay didn't quite meet my expectations; it was more like fried chicken slices on skewers. I would definitely order the soup again, but next time I think I'll explore a different dish.

This is the best Asian food I’ve ever had. As a local tribal member, I’m very selective, and Vicki always ensures my order is perfect. I honestly have nothing but wonderful things to say. I always enjoy the Singapore curry and Malaysian rice, along with many other dishes, but those two are my go-to favorites. The flavors are incredible—truly the best!
Orchid Fine Asian Cuisine is probably the best Chinese restaurant in East Brunswick! Since relocating to South River a few months ago, I sampled several local Chinese eateries, but none truly stood out until I discovered this gem. The food is outstanding, and I especially love that they have lunch specials on Saturdays.
Orchid Fine Asian Cuisine is the ideal spot for a quick lunch or takeout. With a diverse menu featuring numerous options, the staff is also exceptionally courteous. We highly recommend it!
The employees were very friendly. We ordered takeout and followed the suggestions of Yelp reviewers. Most items were served coated with a heavy (usually sweet) sauce. Definitely not a fan.
