I used to eat at the Freeport location at least three times a week in the early 2000s, and it was fantastic. Over the years, they've expanded, but it seems they've lost some of the pride they once had in their food. Last week, I had a breakfast burrito, and it had chunks of egg shells in it. I gave it another shot last Wednesday morning, and I was reminded of what egg shells are like. Overall, a once-great hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot has turned into just another mediocre multi-location restaurant. It's time for a change.

19. Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito was delicious. Perfect morning breakfast. It was filling, but not greasy. Definitely would order again. Red salsa had an off flavor to it, luckily the green salsa was standard taqueria fair. I do not understand why the Chips w/ Guacamole were prepared they were. It was chips with splatters of guac. Chips were soggy. Suggest packaging guac in another container. Will not order again.

I always, and I mean always, go to Oscars on Freeport, but my recent experience was incredibly disappointing. I ordered through DoorDash out of desperation while I was at work and ended up spending about $30 on a burrito that arrived cold. The cheese wasn’t even melted, the meat was overly salty, and I ended up wasting half of it. I feel like I just threw away $20. I'm really frustrated.

I ordered the carnitas burrito, and it was just alright. The carnitas tasted more like sliced and grilled pork tenderloin, and it lacked flavor. Overall, the burrito was pretty bland. I think I’ll try a different restaurant in the area next time, but if you're in a hurry, the food is acceptable. Book a table now

The carne asada super burritos at Oscars are the best I've ever tasted. This place has been consistently amazing for the past 13 years! I always order the super burrito toasted, which takes it to another level. The carne asada is both lean and flavorful.

If you're in the mood for costly and unexciting Mexican cuisine, Oscar's Very Mexican Food is the spot for you. They've moved into the larger restaurant next door, but it seems to be underutilized. It’s not as though diners are eager to linger there.

The West Sac location has expanded with more seating and dining space. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries, and they were, as always, fresh and delicious. There's also a new chip and salsa bar, which is a great addition. I can't wait to return soon!
