still good. we visited here a lot when we lived in york, both the “old place” and the newer ones where he is still today. when I was hoping that it was still good, I went to lunch with the family shopping and wandering around the city. Despite the school holidays and in the regular busy in all york we were happy enough to get a table without waiting. still the same old menu as I remember what is not bad! we had all the burgers, the portions are still as large as they were visiting the last, still as delicious as I remember. the service was good, all were very full!

The food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic, with one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The starters are delicious. The staff really make the experience special, as they are so accommodating, attentive, friendly, and welcoming. This place is a hidden gem in York. Our server Molly was particularly lovely.
The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food and a perfect location. The staff was friendly and the portions were generous. We went around 9 o'clock on a Sunday with the family and the happy hour was a great bonus.

good pub food in the middle of the York ShamblesI agree with one of the other reviews that said it seems like a chain.
The Red Curry Chicken is excellent, nice and spicy. The garlic bread with mushrooms is a meal in itself.
