A cute little cafe in Hurstville situated beside some other gawker style joints. I ordered a matcha latte with soy milk and I loved it. The latte was strong in flavour which was surprising! I’ll def be back for more lattes hahaha. I ordered a red bean taiyaki which I shared with my dad. We both agree that it’s delicious, and are keen to come back for more. Sometimes they will need to make a new batch which takes about 7 minutes not very long, and they’ll bring it to the table. In the old days when Otsu first opened, I have many doubts about this little cafe. Not sure which coffee beans they are using now, but back then it just tasted like burnt coffee, roughly bitter. The fish shape Japanese waffle or taiyaki was soggy, and they didn’t have the soft serve like now. So immediately after two occasions I stopped coming here. It took Otsu a long while to hit the right spot. I visited their stall at the Cherry Blossom Festival 2018 at Auburn Botanical Garden. I got the Festival croissant which was buttery, soft and oh so delicious. It was filled with a mix of cherry blossom and vanilla soft serve and filled with toppings. It tasted great, but was definitely a little too pricey.
came here and ordered 2 taiyakis: a red bean and caption otsu first impressions: service was fast! food: the teig was quite fat and tasty type of bland and overcooked, but the fillings were wonderful. was relatiw disappointed as I had high hopes, but price and quantity was pretty good.

Cute design and I liked their nutella taiyaki. Not a big fan for their other flavours. But I did appreciate their cheap prices and friendly service. Would probably come back if I pass by Hurstville after a meal and just order the nutella one.
6 combo for 1 taiyaki any flavour and a small coffee. I choose the signature taiyaki, which is a mixture of red bean, matcha custard and green tea mochi. It’s a nice little Japanese Dessert, perfect combo to have after lunch!
the Matcha ice cream was quite average. the taiyaki had a very thick teig with very little red bean. Remember, the taiyaki are prefabricated, so they only reheat it when served. they can see them already made in the window.
The guys who work their are super hot but super rude ; ;. I would rate it 5 Stars but they took a long time to give us what we ordered. Faster service would’ve been nice but it tasted good and we got what we asked for.

first of all, a matcha-laugh with a coffee shot! They didn't know I was missing so much. the bitterness of the coffee and matcha went so well together and was not overwhelming!
