otto in sabachwalden almost perfect. who likes to eat salat gets an salat for his money with supplements (put stripes, bratkartoffeln, lachs etc. who is looking for the same. a part that is so big that it is difficult to make the whole teller empty. that one would bring a good hunger. but besides this speciality, the motto also offers tasty eating like rumpsteak with pommes... a great advantage is also that, no matter how often I am in the motto, it always tastes good. there are no good and bad days. 5 stars there was only because the service remains on the line due to the good visit. always friendly and nice, but it can happen that they have to wait long before they can order. while eating...
it has stones and wooden beams and a bar section, but seems more like a modern restaurant, but it was the busiest place in the city on a Tuesday night. it has a pizza menu that no one seemed to use and a limited selection of...seats and meat dishes. I saw what the salads probably came out and they were mountainous. I had huh and I got an salat first, then the hunch (only grilled boobs, not the traditional German brat I hoped) came with a mountain of kartoffels and sweets and a large sauce. it is €15 for huh, €20 for steaks, I think under €10 for salate, but they will not starve. also they have good beer and local wee too low preisen. not sure if they have an English menu.
Yup, I hate salad. Well, I thought I did until I went to Ottos. For a pizza junky like me it was a hard sell getting me along to the famous salad restaurant until I saw they had pizza on the menu. So hubby got...the pork, mushroom and bacon salad and I got the ham, mushroom, bacon and pineapple pizza. Both portions came out ENORMOUS and then I tasted his salad... Oh. My. God. Ottos, you may have turned me for life! While the pizza was also delicious, it came home in a takeaway container and is now contemplating its life in the fridge. Perhaps I should be contemplating mine too! Really amazingly tasty guys!
for over 30 years we come back to sasbachwalden and enjoy at Otto’s always at least two meal times. local and visitors flock here to eat pancakes (typically German pizza style dish with a very thin crust and cream cheese made basic...with a lot of hearty or sweet toppings.) Otto’s is also famous for huge main dish salads, which are made with a series of different optional ingredients. the same owner manager has this locally famous eating place for 33 years, in which the quality of food and the fresh of all ingredients has always remained exceptional.

since approx. 20 years I come to salute more often in the currency, always a great taste experience, whether salat with salmon, with duck breast, with pork fillet. also the other dishes, e.g. the steaks, are recommended. simply ingenious, as it is worth a bit more, we like to drive the 25-30 km, reserve is mandatory, always very well visited, the price-performance ratio is really top! the unique thing that could be improved, the service at reordering drinks, it often takes a little longer!
we ate here in august 2019, four of us all went for the steak. the salat was fresh and a beautiful starter, the beer was fantastic. the steak was a little done, but still good enough for a medium rare. great quality, the sauces were also very delicious. it is worth spending extra on the sauce. the additional veg with the steak means nothing extra order. the service was exceptional. the atmosphere was as expected from
at otto there are the best salads far and wide. the portions are huge, the price-performance ratio is good. However, the restaurant is not so large, so a seat reservation is always worth when they want to come to the joyful of the delicious salads. parking spaces are unfortunately only limited, so they need to search for suitable parking spaces.
This place exists since many years and is specialised in salads. You can have them with 20 different toppings like goat cheese, dates in bacon, fish, gambas, beef stripes, veggies etc.the salads are excellent. But bring a little bit of patience. Service mostly is slowly...but friendly. The interior design is very cosy.

the business near the night had a delicious dinner here and I was served very kindly! they like to come back!
