My wife and I visited The Ox for the first time for some Sunday lunch. On entry we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table and offered bottle water with the menus. The restaurant is situated in a basement/cellar and has a wonderful atmosphere. The service was efficient, warm and friendly. We decided skip the starters and went straight to the main course. My wife chose the slow roasted porchetta and I chose the Buxton's dry aged beef rump. Both meals came with roast potatoes, cauliflower au gratin, braised red cabbage, roast carrots, leeks, greens and Yorkshire pudding. The meals were exquisite, a taste sensation in every mouthful. My wife gave me a taste of the porchetta, whi...

Had a fantastic meal last night with my wife; she has been before so knew exactly where it was, it’s an awesome place nestled downstairs in a ‘vault’ style setting very discreetly signed from street level… We had a booking and we’re taken swiftly to our table by a super cool guy called Jack. The food was incredible, we shared a T bone steak, a couple of glasses of Malbec and some mouth watering starters.. Scallops Ribs. All cooked to perfection as expected! The service, personality and professionalism of the staff was what really put a smile on our face.. hospitality has taken a bit of a hammering lately so it’s a genuine pleasure to visit somewhere that the staff are as enthusiastic slick a...
the steak was absolutely divine and incredible quality, the sauce was rich and tasty, the triple boiled chips were perfectly boiled. as for the red bone mark we had to begin. caramelized wobble, parmesan and sourded toast with the roasted leg. absolutely divine. the service was amazing, the staff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place if they are looking for a good restaurant in bristol!
it was the first time that my partner visited the ox and I myself hadn't been here for a while, so we were very careful. the staff was extremely helpful in terms of what we should order. we have divided a t bone steak together with three times boiled frits, regular pommes and a bit sweet. everything was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed our meal very soon to visit again! the ox is quite well known for one of the best (if not the best) steak house in bristol. it is certainly a very good! location by location, it is easy to find in corn street. your meat is really delicious and the service is always very friendly. I would recommend a booking, as it tends to be quite crowded. it is not cheap, but it is worth visiting
had large appetizers (bone, mac n cheese, asparagus and duck egg, share meat plate then had 3 bark meat on Sunday roast and a filet steak. was fucking beautiful, even though the blue cheese sauce was really strong! 6 drinks too. £160 plus optional £20 service fee.
The food and wine were amazing! The service was great. Our steak was grilled perfectly medium rare. We had the sharer deal for 2 people with the meat board as a starter, then we choose the tbone steak and then we had 5 different ice creams as a dessert
nice atmosphere and romantic feeling. eating was nice, but they don't have much for their money and everything has to be paid separately. had an early booking and felt a little rushed and fast to be given the bill. a beautiful, welcoming experience. Book a table now
As the name suggests this is where to eat meat, thoroughly enjoyed our steaks washed down from the comprehensive selection of wines. The atmosphere was great which the pictures struggle to capture.
Welcome to the personal. steak was amazing with perfect medium rare. I would like to come back to taste their sun roastday.
