Stopped for a drink while walking by in the afternoon and had an amazing bartender and drinks. Wasn't busy and really liked the vibe. So, we decided to come back a couple nights later for food. It was packed in the evening, but we were able to get a couple seats at the bar, luckily, without reservation. This bartender was much less attentive as he was mostly talking to friends, but was nice. Tried a couple different drinks which were much less appealing. Highly recommend any of the margs, or the mexican gin and tonic. Food was mid to good, but underwhelming for the price. While pretty okay, it is not any better than your local Mexcian restaurant other than a more diverse menu and ingredients...

What a fantastic restaurant to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Oyamel is part of the Jose Andres empire with multiple restaurants that I have enjoyed. Oyamel is no exception with its guacamole station out front where you can see them make your guacamole to the wonderful food and excellent tequila list. Service is excellent, ambience is fun although it can be sooo loud. Truly enjoyed our whole meal with chayote squash asado, Minilla Veracruzana (smoked tuna), pulpo (octopus), and Barbados de Cordero. Rather than dessert, we finished with a delicious sipping tequila. This was our second visit and terrific so well be back!

Too loud for my taste, but a poor seat was our option when we barely missed the reservation grace period en route to a show. However, the service and food was spectacular without doubt! And the ambiance of the butterfly ? full decor was dreamy plus fun. Fridays and Saturdays the place is busy so snag a reservation and make notes of preferences. PS prices are incredibly low! Vegetarian options: Plenty to satisfy

Our waitress was amazing. There was supporting staff, equally incredible. Pretty pricey but the food was really good. Lots of homemade ingredients. Decent portions. The guacamole was literally made to order a few feet away-and it was worth every penny!!!!Specialty drinks were cool. Fun and creative atmosphere.
