I'm usually very optimistic when visiting a place, and my expectations are set low, due to years of having to eat random street food and small restaurants to save ... So for me to say that this is the absolute WORST restaurant around the area, is a big deal (in my book lol). The place is dusty, the plates dirty, the chopsticks old, the napkins ripped and stained, the food old and stale, the chicken low quality, and the pho.. the absolute worst pho i've ever tasted in my life. I feel bad writing this, and being so mean, but I'm trying to save someone a few bucks, and a bad stomachache, and to be truly honest, I don't understand how this place is allowed to be legally open. En Anglais just popped there this evening for dinner! Wow, back to the Vietnam War decor tacky with Xmas stuff still hanging. The dictator of a woman who took my order well, where she appeared from I do not know like the decor, 1960? Menu very thin in terms of choice. The soup Pho (starter bowl) was good, but I have had far better. The main was just disgusting. Fried wok noodles which was simply spaghetti and butter just awful this was a chow mein, except the bean sprouts and the veg at 6€ too! The main was just inedible bland sautéed beef with basil, where was the beef? All in all, if this rates at 5 in Ferney Voltaire, take a trip to Chinatown in Paris/Geneva far better value. We had dinner in this restaurant many times. When we want to eat for authentic and good Vietnamese, we always come here. If you don't expect a fancy restaurant, but you search for a very easy and good place to spend time with family or friend, this is the place I'd recommend! The ladies that run the restaurant are very nice and friendly. The service is not fast, but the food is worth the waiting. Best food to try are the soups, they are really exceptional. The noodles are also usually well above anything else you can find in a medium asiatic cuisine restaurant. However, desserts are not as good as all other servings. Give a try to this restaurant, you won't be disappointed!
I ued to frequent this restaurant in the 80's 90's on a regular basis. It was the only Asian restaurant in the area of quality. It is mainly Vietnamese cuisine and is small. I would never have eaten anywhere else unless it was closed. The cook was an old Vietnamese lady, the mother of the owner and she must have been one of the best cooks around. The last time I eat there at lunchtime, I was deeply disappointed. The food was below average and the price above average. I would not recommend it at anytime. What a pity as it was once a great little restaurant.
