We were thrilled to find this charming place. It's in an interesting location with lovely old buildings, near the cathedral. The tapas was the best we've ever had in Spain-we would particularly recommend the gambas (prawns sautéed with garlic) and chiperones (fried whole baby squid). Delicious. And the chocolate dessert was to die for! We returned several times to dine here. The friendly, helpful owner speaks perfect English which is a bonus.
Lovely set lunch menu. All home cooked with an imaginative menu a great change from the standard menu del dia. Great news, they are one of the very few restaurants open on Monday evenings. It is so difficult to find good food in Tortosa on Monday night. For visitors to the area the owner speaks fluent English.
The service was brilliant, fluent English spoken by one of the waiters which helps when your Spanish isnt great. He explained what each dish was in detail. The value is amazing we had 4 glasses of wine with our meal and we still only paid €25. It was a great find highly recommended.
Pretty tapas bar under new management with a lovely high ceiling and great graphics. Alastair, whose father is English, served a set menu including delicious local ham, prawns in chilli garlic, and a wonderful Catalonian take on fish and chips. Plus the best coffee in Spain! Book a table now
The restaurant's owner speaks fluent English and the Patatas Bravas/Croquettes were the best I had in Spain. You (adults) also get complimentary rice liquor which tastes like alcoholic melted vanilla ice cream and has become one of my top 3 drinks.
We ate sandwiches (seitan and iberian ham) and croquetes. Lo Palauet has an enchanting atmosphere with a personal touch, very cute and centrally located.
