I recently dined at Poncho Villa’s and unfortunately left feeling quite disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the service was slow, and the young lady attending to us seemed more like she was doing us a favor than providing service. We waited more than 15 minutes just to place our order, and another 10 minutes went by before our non-alcoholic beverages finally arrived. As for the food, it fell flat across the board. I ordered the Mexican Pizza with a side of rice and beans, and the rice tasted pre-cooked and lacking in authenticity. Was here a few days ago and ordered nachos and a Mexican pizza as apps. Nachos were a solid 7/10. Would order them again. Mexican pizza was a 5/10. Def wouldn’t order them again. It was soggy. Wanted to order more but the waitress was too busy gossiping about some lady stalking her and was on her phone a lot. Took 20 mins just to get a refill and we got attitude for asking for that. So we called it a night. This place has been around for years. Used to be better. It really wasn’t busy but the waitress wasn’t the friendliest. Maybe better staff would help.
Great food! And I'm a mexican food enthusiast. Lol. Only 4 stars because our waiter was completely lost. He struggled with only 3 tables. I rip on him because we were starving and he waited on people who came in after us. Hopefully they fix that guy so you don't have to experience that too. Oh yeah, we split the 8lb burrito and took leftovers home and ate it for 3 days.
The dining room is open on Fri, Sat and Sun now. It was as delicious as I remembered it. You have to go up to the counter and order your dinner and they bring it to the table but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The food was piping hot, chips and salsa are complimentary, and the service was very good.
