Awful experience with the food. I had previously decided to avoid this place after some unpleasant visits, but I thought I’d give it another try. The tables were dirty, which is understandable given the short staffing, but the cold soup and cold chicken sandwich were unacceptable. When I asked for a new soup, I was given an even larger bowl, but it was still unappetizing, with crusty bits of dried food stuck around the sides. It clearly wasn't fresh. The chicken sandwich was tough and cold, making it very difficult to eat. This is not what I expect from Panera. I manage a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities, and today, one of my residents and I decided to grab lunch after running some errands. We patiently waited in line during the bustling lunch rush, and just as it was our turn, they opened an additional register. When we approached the counter to place our order, the manager spoke with our cashier and then said, "The meals are on us." We were truly amazed by this unexpected act of kindness from Panera Bread. I've always loved this chain for its delicious food and inviting atmosphere, but witnessing such generosity and attentive service really stood out to me. I entered the store and couldn’t find any employees. The sign instructed us to order at the kiosk, which we did, getting an iced coffee and a regular coffee. I entered my cell number for a text notification when the iced coffee was ready, but I never received it. I also didn’t see any staff members during my visit. It was definitely one of the strangest experiences I’ve had at Panera. We ended up helping ourselves to cups and poured our own coffee, as well as grabbing some scones for convenience. We even upgraded our sizes. If anyone is looking for free coffee and scones, you might want to check out the Glen Allen Panera. You can roam behind the counter without any issues. You’re welcome!
Terrible food. I had boycotted this location after several bad experiences. Dirty tables, understandable since they are short staffed..but COLD SOUP and a cold chicken sandwich?? I went back to get a new soup, and I was given an even bigger bowl whichhad scrapings of dried caked on soup from the sides of the container. Not fresh. The chicken sandwich was hard and cold, verydifficult to eat. Not what I expect from Panera. Definitely won 't come back to this one, especially after I had a nice stomachache and got sick shortly after my meal. Hadn 't eaten anything else today. Whoever is supposed to be responsible for this storeneeds a reality check. Disgraceful.
