During our road trip in Switzerland from Tasch (Zermatt) to Lugano on a beautiful September day, we decided to stop over at the beautiful Swiss village of Bettmeralp to view the mighty Aletsch Glacier. A gondola ride from the base station at Betten took us to the Alpen village of Bettmeralp. Then after a 20 minute walk through the village, we took the cable car to the viewpoint station at Bettmerhorn. After enjoying a stunning view of the Aletsch from the view point and clicking some photos, we decided to have lunch at the Panorama restaurant. Absolutely amazing view, and the food is also quite ok. We come here every year at least once, and the view alone makes it worth it. The food is alright, but used to be better. We spent 20 mins in the queue until we could order and pickup the food. Prices are expensive of course, but still reasonable considering the location at close to 3000m elevation. Fries: 10 ChF, Daily menu 15-20 Chf, Big Rivella 12 CHF. Food is alright. Fries were nice but since this year they are served in a weird container and they cool down fast : . Soups also nice. Cholera a bit on the expensive side but very tasty. They also have clean and spacious bathrooms. There is no service, you have to pick up the food yours...
Amazing view on the Matterhorn and the surrounding 4000m peaks as well as on the aletsch glacier. The food is actually not too expensive for the fact that it is at the top of a mountain.... and it was actually quite good. Ski area around is amazing.
Top Aussicht, gutes Essen, wegen Corona kleinere Speisekarte. Corona Schutzkonzept klappt tadellos. Unser Lieblingsrestaurant, immer wieder gerne.....

No breakfast at 10am, no sandwiches, no bread, nothing. All they had were small cakes for 9.80 CHF each. Terrible experience!
Valais rösti and burgers were okay. Goulash soup weak and watery. Kitchen performance can be improved!!
