I was riding home from my brothers and was starving but didn’t want any of the traditional fast food. i passed by the barn looking restaurant and did a 360 because i saw how content/happy/hyped customers looked while walking out or getting their food, i instantly felt i needed to try it. I went through their drive thru, it took no time to get through. I ordered the Chopped bbq and pork ribs plate, my sides as fries and baked beans. Everything tasted like it came straight off the stove, fries were so fresh they lasted me my whole 30+ minute drive home. We were in town for a robotics competition and heard about this place. When we arrived the drive thru was out to the road. We chose to walk up and place our order. We got the Family Meal and the service was fast and friendly. We needed cups for the gallon of sweet tea and the lady at the window went out of her way to take care of us. The chicken, BBQ and all the sides were delicious. Too bad it's not open tomorrow, but they're definitely on the list if we're back next year. Thank you.
Every other year I come from Washington State (Seattle) to visit Papa Bills. I get to the Airport in Charlotte NC and will drive past every restaurant until I get to Pembroke. This BBQ is off the chain and If I could, I would eat it everyday. That BBQ sandwich would cost $7.00 in Seattle. So my question to Papa Bill is when are you going to expand to the West coast and How can I get some of the best BBQ sent to Seattle!!! Your BBQ is the best in NC.
First time ever going here but I've always heard great things and they didn't disappoint went thru the drive thru which was super fast and got bbq ribs and BBQ chicken, Cole slaw, hush puppies, and baked beans with a sweet tea all for 12.99. The chicken and ribs were so tender a d had a great BBQ sauce. Would recommend to anyone. Will advise you that you'll wanna take a nap after eating for the cherry on top

I’m a frequent diner to Papa Bill’s so I’ve had their best and worst. Their best, is just that. The best food in Pembroke. When at their worst, it’s still better than most and only second to few. Start with a BBQ sandwich combo with a sweet tea and lemonade mix. Then come back for ribs. And finally, get some chicken. Then repeat!
Outstanding bbq and chicken will definitely make a detour to stop here when heading to the beach and heading back home to Charlotte Nc. Real deal this restaurant right here!
