Quite busy at pm we ordered our fish and chips which was for adults with tea and bread and butter. We asked twice for bread and butter and had no milk when the tea came so young lady at counter gave me some...milk. I then asked again for bread for one as my husband had already eaten his meal by the time I got my slice and I was over halfway through my meal. A couple on next table were served with their meal and they also had to ask for tea and bread and butter and had to ask for a knife and fork and still waiting for their drinks when we left. Fish and chip supper prior to theatre visit. Easy to park for Papa's and not get wet in the biblical' rainstorm. We were only diners in restaurant, so not much atmosphere but waitress was friendly and attentive. Seniors special proved amazing value choice of...tea or coffee, haddock or cod, and wide range of sides one each included and brown or white bread and butter. We both chose cod. Fish was plenty large enough, crisp batter and cooked to order, chips were piping hot. Maybe not the best we have ever had, but much better than most. Really cheering on a filthy night in Castleford.
Didn't know that Papas did GF fish and chips until TA search showed it. Rang to confirm before visited and they serve every day. When I went to pick up, I was advised... ring before and as they are cooked fresh, they will be ready when...you get here and don't have to wait as long.. fab service. Also do gf battered sausages, battered holloumi. GF Curry sauce was spicy and good. Really happy I found that this is local and so good. Fish was fresh, moist and batter crisp and large' fish was large not just in price.

Called in on Tuesday night as a party of Not many people in so service was spot on with friendly staff. We all had the large cods which were enormous, lovely tasty batter and the quality of the fish was superb. A nice portion...of mushy peas finished with a tasty cup of tea. One of the best fish and chip meals I have had.
Called in after a couple in town, not sure about the bad service comments on here as they were great with us, even telling us cheaper ways to get what we wanted! Fish were huge and nice chips, even after a minute drive home....Very good.
Constantly good. Gluten-free batter lovely. Now order gf for whole order rather than mixing. GF curry tasty and is what I remember or think I do before I needed gf food.
First time grandparents came up from Isle of Wight and they said it was super!!! Sue, the lady who served us was very friendly and helpful
