I Love Park Lane Pizza for classic New England Greek pizza. Take a round pan, cover the dough with sweet sauce and plenty of mozzarella and walla, a great pie is born. For those of you not from New England, this pizza can throw you for a loop. It's nothing like New York style, it's not supposed to be, it's not competing with New York style pizza, give it a chance if you haven't had it, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I always order my half mushroom half cheese pizza with extra sauce, and it always delivers. Greek pizza and a total time warp inside. Cheap beer (pitchers.. , excellent feta laden Greek salads, jukebox at every table (even Freddy Fender records! , and nice wood paneling ala 1966. Greek pizza is a pan za, thicker crust, sweeter sauce, and circular (at Park Lane.. . If you didn't grow up in Southern New England..one may not be able to differentiate between the two pizzas...but we know. Park is a cllllassssic spot for so many of us who left the Hartford area when we return.
My go to pizza place since moving to West Hartford, CT! Starving upon arriving I randomly ordered because it was close by and now it's my go to place. A long standing pizza joint that is consistent and delicious! My usual is a pizza and chef salad for take out. Their Italian/pasta dishes are gigantic. Plus you always get fresh bread with whatever you order. You can't go wrong, this place is fantastic!
Ordinarily this restaurant would get 5 stars but management continues with take out orders only. Pre covid pandemic, this place was run like a fine oiled machine.....every booth could be full and the waitstaff and cooks had no problem keeping up with the demand with not only the patrons in the restaurant but with takeout orders as well. Many of us are missing the old Park Lane experience.
