I wasn't feeling great following my booster shot, so consulted Yelp for a nearby source of hot chicken soup. I quickly found Pastrami Plus, ordered takeout online and thoroughly enjoyed everything I got.Their chicken soup was very good, came with thin noodles and soft tender matzoh balls. Five stars for flavor and curative powers! Side portion of chopped chicken liver came with a few greens and rye bread, flavorful and delicious. I needed to keep my strength up (good rationalization to overeat lol) so indulged in a hot pastrami on rye as well. Pastrami Plus in East Meadow West of Wantagh Parkway exit and then on the left side lot of stores. It has your standard deli foods and the prices are high. The sign says cash only but now for 4 they will take a credit card payment. The potato pancakes are huge and thick and not the small thin favorable ones. They are sold 1 each or 1 order of 3 each. Not something I plan to order again. They make their own knishes in a large muffin cup size enough to cut up to 2 to 4 slices. The pastrami (upon request) was lean on rye bread with mustard with a choice of sour or 1.2 sour pickles. They did have corn dogs or the equivalent knish dogs on a stick. Looks can be deceiving. It appears a little run down and from 30something years ago. So everything inside is in need of an upgrade but this isn't why you go there. This is a typical blue collar meat sandwich lunch break type place. They are renowned for the hot pastrami. It is amazing. Go for the food and the friendly face behind the counter, he's a nice guy
They have a combo corned beef and pastrami with cole slaw and thousand island dressing called the 'East Meadow ' that is the greatest deli sandwich around. We have ordered that sandwich for years and when there are 4 adults eating and all 4 want the same sandwich you know it must be a keeper. Their homemade knishes cant be missed. Book a table now
Fantastic Sandwich So tasty and the fries to die for. Immediate serving of cole slaw and pickles. Amazing sweet taste of the cole slaw tickles the pallet. Excellent service and very friendly atmosphere.Food: 5/5
