Day before plan for a festive Easter Cake. Searching online came up with Patisserie Manuel. Requested an Eastery cake. The person who took my order informed me that the Chocolate butter cream icing with vanilla cake could not be decorated due to the late order. Then said, wait, picked up the phone again, and said we will. The lovely cake had an egg nest with chocolate eggs and a delicious decoration saying Happy Easter. The grand children loved the eggs, as did the adults also loved the eggs. The cake was fresh and voted Good Choice: I took away 1 how do you put in a 1/2 ? because the location was on Brookville Road in an industrial part and difficult to find. I hope they reopen in Bethesda...
Additionally, finding the place was a challenge. The information on the website and Google needs to be more explicit, as it still shows non-existent hours and outdated photos of the old location. In the end, we found another cake at Patisserie Codex, where we got to try it and meet the friendly chef, who was very approachable. It’s tough to commit to ordering a $44 cake that’s a 40-minute drive away without being able to sample it first. Perhaps they’ll reach out to us in the future, but I completely understand that not everyone is available all the time.
These are amazing pastries. My family is very particular and the Patiesserie's pastries and cakes are extremely special, right up there with some of this region's French, Viennese bakeries (likely better on the cakes and absolutely on the pan d chocolate, only had better in North America in Montreal). May be a little hard to find and is not a storefront be encouraged by checking the menu and speaking with the owner! She and her team bring so much to life in their bakery. Wish I could have these weekly.
We visited this patisserie this morning, and I must say—these might be the best croissants I've ever tasted! They're definitely on par with those from Kouign Amann in Montreal. The flaky texture is perfect, the flavor is spot-on, and the pain au chocolat features a wonderfully smooth, rich dark chocolate filling! The almond croissant and the chocolate pear croissant were fantastic as well! You have to go! Right now!

I give them 4 stars only to be more realistic with my review. I’m happy with the custom cake that they have made on such a short notice and I praise them for that but the quality of the cake itself was not good. It wasn’t fresh on the inside and the majority of the people at my place didn’t like it either it definitely looked good on the outside. Disclaimer : the Two Fast decoration wasn’t done by them.
For Christmas I ordered the Four Leches cake! Let me tell you… it was amazing. The flavors so perfectly balanced. It was unlIke any Tres Leches cake I’ve had but it was also better than any other! Can’t wait for another occasion so I can get it again!
I love this bakery. First of all everyone is very friendly and helpful. I'm addicted to the cannoli and the eclairs. I ordered a birthday cake for my girlfriend's birthday and to say that it not only looked great it tasted great too.
I have ordered cookies, croissants, and baguettes, but no cakes yet. Everything is always consistently fresh, especially high quality, and amazingly delicious.
