when it became late, we drove through the city and decided to eat in the pfeffer mill. because it was warm, we ate on the back terrace. I assume that many of the guests were also hotel guests and had a fixed menu. the restaurant seemed to be more oriented to volume than to quality, although our meals were good innkeeper dishes. Many of the other guests seemed to focus mainly on the quantity of food. my wife ordered a suppe and the maul bags while I chose the matjes, a lighter meal. our waitress was friendly at first, but brought our drinks only slowly. she had an assistant who was kind and helpful. we felt a hostility on the part of the older waitress when she spoke very sharply with her you...
we went to this restaurant one evening during our stay in gengenbach. the food and the price were in order. but the problem was: we had to wait an hour for our suppe and then another hour for our main dish. we sat in front of the restaurant and felt very cold as it was quite windy in the evening. some customers even left the restaurant after they had settled for more than 15 minutes, but were not served at all.
we have made a reservation for 2 people, which was necessary, it was a full house in the evening. but... they have too many tables for less personal. a waitress for about 45 people. the kitchen could not deliver all people in time. after many questions we were served after approx. 75 minutes! there were much angry among the guests. that was good, but we never come back.
we really arrived too late for lunch, but, my word, the personal has all been given effort to ensure that we enjoyed a delicious lunch - two very juicy carvings with baptismal pommes and some delicious cool. the waiters were wonderful with our little son and we had no hurry (although they were technically closed!).
