A few weeks ago Peggottys closed and was rebranded as Churchill 's and adopted the standard Churchill 's menu. Sadly the changes have made this establishment worse. The old menu had chicken strips as an option and those were always freshly cooked for you, as was the fish. The chicken strips have given way to Chicken Heroes heroic they are definitely not. Peggotys poor reputation was well earned and all they've done is rebranded and raised their prices hping that people would think they've raised their game. Well they haven't. Over cooked fish swimming in fat, roast chicken that was so dry we had to throw it away. Vegan burgers were fine, but then they were frozen anyway so they could hardly be difficult to mess up. Remember it's my opinion based in the day we went last night.£6.70 I think 2 bags of chips. Images show the results of one. Sadly same as Fleet Hants quality has dived don't get it unless buying cheaper produce. Clean shops whistles and flags 1923 history but then serve up this. Called in the other day for 2 chips, a pie, and squid rings Chips not good and cold pie warm been in range along time. Squid freshly cooked so nice. Been coming here for some time now, good service with a smile, food is very good, tasty and the chips are the best around. I order on line and pick up at a time that suits me, my meal is ready on time every time.
We had the sausage and chips and can thoroughly recommend, the chips we're the best we've had in a long time! We also liked that the fish is sustainably sourced and the service was good too :

Apparently, this is medium cod and chips for £11.14. I would not say it's even a child portion. The quality of the food was okay.
