Haven’t been here in about a decade for some my reason but remembered it being the best fish abs chips when I last had it. It has stood the test of time. Absolutely fantastic and really feel like a fool for ordering from a local...competitor just because they deliver. Well worth the short trip to Peters. Without doubt the best fish and chips in the Medway towns. The chips are chip shop style believe it or not, with the large chips retaining fluffyness whilst the smaller chip bits provide a decent and expected crunch throughout. The cod was insanely good crispy batter throughout and piping hot fish. No bones no skin was quite a nice touch. The Mrs had a battered sausage and she was impressed....
there are two chip shops too foot to me. but if I'm in the mood for a plate of fish and chips, I'll get into the car and drive to peters. because in contrast to the indifferent pocket tasteless fattening miserable, which on the other...two, peters is perfect, every time. another thing they know when they come into the average chippy near the closing time and they have shut down the friteurs before the age and the only choice is what always sits in the child cabinet for an hour? not so at peters. all freshly cooked to order in the last minute.
on the first night of our stay with friends in gillingham we picked up a takeaway from peters fish and chips. there was a great, inexpensive menu with all the usual chip shop favorites. I ordered a small fish and chips with curry sauce, my...husband ordered a steak and kidney cake with chips and a side gravy and our friends ordered large fish with chips and mushy. the person who served us was cheerful and the fish store was immaculate. the portions were excellent and the eating tasted fantastic. we would definitely recommend a visit.
