The best pizza I've had in New York is at Philomena's in Sunnyside, Queens. It beats out favorites like Joe's, NY Pizza Suprema, and Prince St. I tried the cheese pizza, the square pizza, and the tiramisu, and everything was exceptional! The owner, Dave, has an incredible passion for making pizza, and his enthusiasm is truly infectious. I even took a picture with him at Philomena's, which is conveniently located on the way to Citi Field via the subway at 40th Street. The pizza is far superior to all the popular tourist spots in NYC. Just be sure to check their hours, as they mainly open in the evening at 4 PM.
Hands down the best plain slice I can remember in a long time. Highlights: Crust is perfectly foldable, is nice and thin but not too thin, and has great flavor Sauce and cheese ratio is great and both have great flavor They rip fresh basil up and grate Parmesan from a block on top after it comes out of the oven. Adds so much depth to the smell and taste So many terrible pizza places in Queens, I don’t know how they stay open. I’ve been searching for something like this for years. I will gladly drive 20 mins past many other pizza places to get here every week
Philomena's may not be the best pizza spot in Queens, but it’s certainly among the good ones. Their menu features a very thin and crispy crust that stands out. While the square pizza didn’t wow me, the personal pies were quite enjoyable. If they could improve the quality of their ingredients a bit, I’d easily consider them the top choice. Either way, I’ll definitely be ordering from Philomena's again in the future.
Philomena's has always been a favorite, but when it became difficult to get a pizza delivered, they dropped a few spots for me. UNTIL TONIGHT! They’re now offering only personal-sized pizzas. I was skeptical at first, but this is absolutely brilliant! People in NYC usually just need a personal pizza anyway. And wow, it was incredibly delicious! Thanks, Philomena’s!

This place has completely exceeded my expectations for what a great pizza slice or pie should be. I just wish I had discovered it sooner through a friend after moving out of state! No amount of words can truly capture how amazing it is. Give it a try and you’ll fall in love!
Today is my last day here, and I’m truly going to miss this place. They offer the best pizza in town! It's such a pity to see them close down! UPDATE: They’re back, at least for now!
Absolutely delicious—definitely the best slice in Sunnyside! I highly recommend the Jersey Shore slice, the pepperoni, and the potato and broccoli rabe pizza.
Great pizza! Totally worth the 30-minute drive. I went back to try more, and the personal pizza is my favorite.
