The crust was a tad too thin and crispy for my taste. While the flavors were decent, they didn't leave a lasting impression. She said it would be about 20 min. Twenty minutes passed and we were told it would be 20 min for our table of 5. The hostess announced outside that our table was being cleaned. A friend recommended Pie-tanza to me, and I’m grateful she did. First of all, the food. I love thin crust pizza, and the one I ordered had a perfectly charred crispness with a rich and delightful tomato sauce. I'm also a fan of apples and cinnamon, so I couldn’t resist trying their warm apple caramel pie, served à la mode with vanilla bean ice cream. BLUF: Allergy friendly, amazing One of the best features about pie-tanza is their gluten friendly menu. You can also be assured that anyone with dairy allergy can eat here safely (as long as you let them know). You can expect a low-key and casual dining experience with great service. Food comes out at a reasonable pace along with their reasonable price. Quality of food has always been my favorite part about this restaurant. My favorites are the chicken parm and the Quatro carne pizza. Highly recommend this place!!

We’ve been visiting Pie-tanza for many years and have always loved the food. We returned tonight to find it very busy, which is fantastic to see, and it’s easy to understand why. While guests were waiting to check in for a table, the owner and chef came out of the kitchen to assist at the front of the house, helping to seat patrons more quickly. The food receives the same level of meticulous attention!
Best chicken parm sandwich I've ever had. Super kind. Incredible service. Reminds me of being in a mom and pop italian place back in New Jersey, where you find the best italian food on the continent. Needless to say, this place is fantastic and the food is genuine Italian style, not any of the fake **** you usually find in this area. One of two Italian places in the DMV I will ever recommend.

Not only is the food great, the customer service is always excellent as well. Our last visit we ordered incorrectly on line. We alerted them, they fixed it right away and didn't bill us, which was above and beyond. Another reason we love the place.
