Absolutely appalling service.
A group of six of us went for dinner and drinks. We sat in the dining area and were quickly told that we had to move because it was "dinner seating only". We said we were there for dinner, and the waitress said "dinner only" and walked off. We then tried to get some menus and the waitress pretty much threw them at the table without acknowledging us. When we tried to find her, she refused to talk to us or take our order insisting that we couldnt split the bill at these tables. We never asked to split the bill and that would not have been a problem, so this was baffling? Eventually we ordered from the bar as the waitress...

Pig & Whistle Riverside is my default "quick catch up" haunt for out-of-town visitors as it's just so easy to find. I've been here quite a few times for dinner, drinks, and a lot of dancing with both locals and visitors to Brisbane.
I've always found the service here to be pretty quick, attentive, and friendly - even when super busy. I love the booths, the fairy lights and the hanging pots in the courtyard. The atmosphere is a combination of both traditional English and relaxed Aussie pubs.

Had dinner here with my boss and colleagues tonight and our food was great! I had the gnocchi with roasted tomatoes, spinach, buttered porcini mushrooms and asiaga - wow wow wow, beautifully cooked gnocchi, pillows of goodness with clean, simple flavours that explode in your mouth. Service was excellent, ambience was bustling, really good live music and front row seats to the Christmas light show in King George Square! Will absolutely go back and try the Slow Cooked Guiness and Steak pie.

after having exactly the same experience, I put every feeling in lifelovetravelfoods recent review so much I want to insert it now. enough to say the moral of the story is not time to expel energy money here in the week for work. unless they long to pay for a chicken parity with soggy chips a side of the chaos. in which case you will love it! store this place for drinks in the beer garden which are weeks after work. the difference between the night of the day is greater than they think.

Decent food and good service. Food came out in a reasonable time too. Good pub food and good choices. Slightly on the pricey side. The serves are large and filling. One of the lamb dishes was dissapointing in the serve size of the small chops, it was layered with tomatoes. Burgers were good and the lamb and haloumi salad is nice.
we went to lunch today on the sparkling river banks, for lunch we had the steak fries with beard, fried chicken wings, garlic bread with kiesty Welsh rarbit and creamy kartoffels, which I must say, although the ambiente is good, the food and the customer service were not recommended again below average, and will never be back to everyone.
quickly stopped here for a late evening snack and was welcomed by very friendly staff. my friend and I shared a nachos and it was easy, but on the best way possible. happy that it had drilled in it. this place is always busy and has a cool mood!

Been here for a drink and a snack. Had a lovely evening with an amazing view of the city hall. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good
